Apple Picking in the Wenatchee Valley
Where: Stutzman Ranch, Wenatchee, WA
When: September 2016
What: Apple-Picking!
How Much: $5 minimum per person
It’s September which means it’s apple season! The Wenatchee Valley is commonly referred to as the apple capital of the world. Is there really a better place you could go apple-picking?
Stutzman Ranch is located in a beautiful orchard setting with great views and lots of fruit to be picked. (Apples, pears, grapes, peaches, etc!) We were there for the apples – Galas, Fujis, and Goldens. At 65 cents a pound, it’s much cheaper than in the store, plus – wouldn’t you rather give your money to a local orchardist?
We spent the later part of the morning picking apples – filling our bucket to the brim. There were quite a bit of people there, but the orchard was plenty large enough that we were never in the same row of trees as another person.
When you’re done, you take your buckets back to be weighed where you pay for your fruit. They have already-picked fruit available for purchase as well. Check out the Stutzman Ranch website here!
